Machine Washable 30-40 degrees.
Before washing our rugs love a good vacuum (we recommend using a low suction setting without the brush function) or give it a good shake outside to remove general debris.
Either hand wash with a light detergent or pop smaller rugs (up to the size 180cm x 120cm) into the washing machine on a 30-40 degree cycle using a non-bio washing detergent.
When it’s time for a deeper clean, machine wash at 40 degrees using a non-bio detergent.
For larger rugs (over 180 x 120cm), we recommend a quick wash at your local launderette, as they can be a squeeze in a domestic machine using the same temperature and settings. Alternatively, take larger rugs outside to hand wash and hose down.
Our rugs emerge from the washing machine virtually dry, so simply hang on the line to fully air dry. Do not dry clean or tumble dry.
Microfibres
While the majority of our products are fully machine washable, we urge you to only do so when they really need it. This small step will significantly reduce the impact of microfibre shedding and prolong the life of your products. Read more about that here: Tackling Microfibres.
FAQs
How do you wash your rugs?
Rugs can be spot cleaned for smaller marks but every now and then will need a more thorough wash. Rugs up to 180x120cm can usually fit in a domestic washing machine but for a larger one, it will be better to try a large drum at the laundrette with the same washing instructions (maximum temperature of 40°C, non-bio liquid detergent). If this capacity is still not large enough, you can do what we sometimes do with ours which is wash outside by hand with a bucket of warm water and detergent in, and hose to rinse. If you pick a sunny day and can hang the rug up, it will dry quite quickly.
Can your products be tumble dried?
As they are made from recycled PET, our products are not suitable for tumble drying.
Can your products be ironed?
Our textiles should not need ironing, but are safe to gently iron if necessary. Please only use the lowest heat setting and bear in mind that our items are made with recycled PET. We always recommend using some form of cotton fabric as a barrier between the iron and your product to protect it.
If a product is out of stock, will you be getting more?
Our product pages have an option to enter your email address to be notified when a product is back in stock. If you still have further stock queries please contact customer services.
Does the length of the rug include the tassels?
The tassels are additional and not included in the measurements.
Do you offer bespoke sizing?
Unfortunately we don’t, if you would like a repeat pattern guide for a specific rug please contact customer services.
Can your Rugs, cushions and blankets be used outside? Will they fade?
Yes all our rugs, cushions, blankets and textiles can be used outside, they're UV stable, moth, mould and water resistant. As they are made from recycled PET, our products are all water resistant (not waterproof). They will absorb the water if they get soaked, but thankfully they dry pretty quickly and are mould-resistant so deal with damp conditions well. Having said this, I wouldn’t recommend leaving things outside for long periods of time when it’s wet so it’s best to store items dry inside over the winter so they can be enjoyed for years to come.
Do you offer free samples?
Yes, if you’re in the final throws of decision making but need to narrow your options down a little further please contact us to request specific rug samples and we’ll be happy to help.
Are your rugs really as soft as wool?
It’s hard to believe that our rugs really are as soft as wool. Hand loomed using our amazing recycled plastic yarn, thanks to their amazing plastic properties our open weave rugs are squishy and warm underfoot great for bedrooms and bathrooms and our flat weave rugs are soft and warm yet extremely hard wearing, capable of coping with the busiest of home lives with kids, dogs and the odd glass of spilt red wine.
Do your textiles shed microfibres?
As a company intent on having a positive impact on the environment, this is an issue we take seriously. When creating our products, we always ensure that our yarn is of a high tensile strength and stability to limit the shedding of microfibers. This property, along with the fact that blankets and rugs are washed less frequently than clothes, means our products are less prone to shedding. Where possible, items should be spot cleaned. If machine washing is necessary for your blankets and smaller items, and you are concerned about microfibers then we recommend using a microfiber filter or bag which minimises their entry into our wastewater systems. Our conventional and commercial washing machines are fitted with effective filters to trap these microplastics too. We have summarised this and further washing recommendations on our website, https://www.weavergreen.com/pages/tackling-microfibres
Do Weaver Green textiles off-gas?
We use only Food grade PET bottles, which are free from BPA and Phthalates, two of the chemicals most associated with fears from Off (or out) gassing. All our products are tested for chemical safety to stringent UK health and safety standards, including chemical makeup (absence of formaldehyde is a key check that we also implement in all our production testing) we pass all safety checks (also USA health and safety checks) for all our products.

As the title says: Very good quality. Very firm. Material is a bit knobbly
The filling does not have much give (although it improves slightly with use). So a bit frim to sit on, but fine as a footstool. Also filling tends to shift to one side and stay there and needs a whack to get it back in shape. Of course, I am comparing this with old leather poufs that were filled with polystyrene beads (that needed topping up evey year or so ) - these were more forgiving.
Can't comment on whether these ones will need topping up. Time will tell.
But overall we are pleasd with it (so much so that we puchased a second one).
Thank you very much for your feedback.
We like to fill our footstools generously, allowing for when the eco beads compress a little, much like polystyrene beads do. The fabric will also give a little after use, so the combination between the two is why we tend to fill them up like this at the beginning. We also provide refill bags for when the beads have compressed a great deal, so you can top it up so it is like new again.
With regards to the material, I can only assume that you are referring to the kilim weave type. We have skilled artisans who weave the rug fabric in the traditional way, but using our wonder yarn, so they are as true to a wool kilim as possible. I personally have 2 footstools, and have found after use this has softened nicely.
We are so happy to hear that you are pleased with your footstool(s), and hope they will serve you for years to come.
Used by all the family from the first day we received it - a great addition to our living room.
I thought our guests in our self- catering barn needed something to rest their feet on and as soon as you have the Nomad footstool back in I am buying it.
It looks beautiful in the barn.
