Cleaning and care
Cleaning and care
For everyday care, our rugs love a good vacuum or shake to remove general debris. Light marks can be lifted with a little detergent and a white cloth, leaving your rug looking fresh in minutes. When it’s time for a deeper clean, machine wash at 40 degrees using a non-bio detergent.
For larger rugs (over 180 x 120cm), we recommend a quick wash at your local launderette, as they can be a squeeze in a domestic machine.
Our rugs emerge from the washing machine virtually dry, so simply hang on the line to fully air dry. Do not dry clean or tumble dry.
Microfibres
While the majority of our products are fully machine washable, we urge you to only do so when they really need it. This small step will significantly reduce the impact of microfibre shedding and prolong the life of your products. Read more about that here: Tackling Microfibres.

Easy to clean and machine washable, each Lycia Rug is hand-loomed using our amazing recycled plastic yarn. Thanks to their amazing plastic properties, our rugs are stain, mould and water-resistant, hardwearing and have great environmental credentials. They're also completely uninteresting to moths and dust mites, making them perfect for allergy sufferers, pet owners and homes prone to carpet moths.
