A navy blue herringbone rug is the perfect choice for anyone looking to bring a Scandinavian feel into their homes. Suitable for use indoors and out, the classic herringbone design is ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms and other low traffic areas.
Made from as many as 3000 recycled plastic bottles, a Weaver Green herringbone rug looks and feels just like wool, yet is stain resistant, machine washable and won’t attract moths or dust mites, making them brilliant for garden offices, summer houses and to be used as camping rugs.
Machine washable at 30 degrees, our hand woven herringbone rugs are also a great option for allergy sufferers, not to mention messy children and red wine spillers!
Please note the softer weaves are more prone pulling and damage from claws, so if your dog or cat loves a rug scratch, choose from our tighter woven Nomad, Andalucia, Medina, Henley or Regimental stripe ranges.
Putting your rug on a wooden or stone floor? Order our non-slip rug underlay to keep your rug in place – perfect for busy hallways.
We only use weaving houses that are independently inspected for fair employment practices. That means they are committed to employing skilled adults who are paid fairly and enjoy comfortable and fair working conditions. By turning used plastic bottles into beautiful fabric bags, we’re able to create jobs and take small steps towards reducing the catastrophic impact of the disposable plastic bottle industry.
All our textiles and rugs are hand loomed, so some variations in colour and size can be expected. If you are ordering a rug for a specific sized area, please contact us before ordering so we can check measurements before sending your order out to you.
Pilling and snagging
Please note that as we have designed our recycled plastic bottle yarn to look and feel like natural wool, some pilling can occur particularly in our softer weaves (Diamond, Herringbone and Provence), as can some yarn snagging on our looser weaves. We advise that our softer Diamond, Herringbone, Brighton Stripe, Oslo and Provence weaves are used in low traffic areas including bedrooms and bathrooms rather than hallways and busy living areas.
Cleaning guide - hoover loose debris (we recommend to use a lower suction setting without the brush function) then either hand wash using a light detergent, or smaller rugs up to the size 180cm x 120cm can also be machine washed at home in a domestic sized drum at 30 degrees, using a non – biological washing detergent. For larger rugs, 240cm x 170cm and 300cm x 250cm they can easily be washed in a commercial sized drum at your local launderette under the same temperature settings, or taken outside and hand washed and hosed down. Our rugs come out of the machine virtually dry, so simply allow to air dry naturally on your line. Do not dry clean or tumble dry.
